This is a truly incredible original export model Mark 1 Mesa Boogie from 1976, with reverb. This was found in a house clearance in Germany, a true mystery, and had been modified over the years. When I got it, I took it straight to my tech who has undone the modifications and put it back to stock. It’s now a super cool, original and one of the earliest Mesa Boogie MK1’s you’ll find! I love the wood/wicker combination, alongside the EVM-12L speaker – a nice combination.
The modifications were originally done by a company called ‘Kitty Hawk’ who eventually ended up selling their own Mesa / Dumble style amplifiers, so I believe this is one of their test bed amplifiers. The power transformer is a Basler replacement, and the choke is a Hammond 194B replacement, and the output transforms is an original 1975 dated Mesa TF.
