This beauty has come from the sale of various ML Executive instruments, and is incredibly likely to be an old stage used The Who cabinet. The Who had built up the biggest and finest collection of sound equipment of any band in the world, but were touring less and less. This expensive equipment, plus their top road crew, were very much in demand by other bands, so they set up ML Executives to hire out the equipment when they weren’t using it.
The cabinet itself is one of the earlier Hiwatt SE4122 from 1970, though it has an earlier metal Hiwatt logo from 1969. This happened quite often back then, where they’d use up old parts! In true ‘The Who’ fashion, it’s got bumps and scrapes everywhere, but works a treat and sounds huge with those four matched Fane 122142 speakers. Comes with a certificate of authenticity that the current owner got from the original sale, stating the above. Grab it whilst you can!
